LionHeart Bernese
The LionHeart Team
I have a great support team behind LionHeart Bernese.....my incredibly patient husband of 20 years, 5 great kids and a wonderful team of friends and co breeders.
A very BIG part of the LionHeart Team is Abbey Brower, of St Louis and Courtney Erickson of Overland Park.
These are two exceptional people that have taken every effort and opportunity to learn as much as they could about this breed and how they want to participate in it.
Because the three of us appear to have the same goals and priorities, we have found that working together has come very easily. I am very excited about what the future holds in store for all three of us.
I was fortunate enough to be one of the lucky ones who started out with a wonderful breeder and mentor. Ruth taught me a lot about the breed as well as the type of breeder I wanted to be.
I thank Ruth for taking the time with me, having patience to deal with me and for believing in me enough to entrust me with these amazing dogs.
Since then, I have gone on to obtain several more dogs, work with many wonderful breeders, achieve many more titles as well as learn more lessons than I ever dreamed possible. I have bred several litters and produced many champions, both in the conformation ring as well as the working rings. The biggest lesson I have learned is...... I will never know it all!
I place great importance on health, longevity and soundness in the dogs that I produce. Along with that I strive for a dog that possess all the type I desire as well as protecting the over all integrity of this beautiful breed.
I am the founding member of a rescue for Bernese mountain dogs and am an avid supporter of rescue.
LionHeart Bernese Mountain Dogs was established in 1993 after we acquired our first berner, CH Pioneers Liberty, from Ruth Reynolds. I was so amazed by the depth of character in these dogs that it wasn’t long before I went looking for berner number two, and our first champion, CH Pioneers Off To Oz v Kruggerand.
These two were quite the pair and the more time I spent with them while achieving their championships and with other berners, the more head over heels I became.
